Myles Cavanaugh, a 47-year-old contemporary artist, cyclist and father of two, was struck by a pickup truck during a bike ride on Oct. 19, according to a GoFundMe launched for his ongoing expenses.

Cavanaugh suffered serious injuries in the accident, according to the campaign, created by Colette Sexton, who describes the father as a “good friend, fellow artist and cycling buddy.”

“I am hoping he will make a full recovery over time, but he has sustained some serious injuries and will be unable to work or paint while he recovers,” Sexton writes.

“As a lifelong beloved member of the Lambertville-New Hope area, Myles has given much to the community over the years.”

More than $6,100 had been raised as of Wednesday morning, pushing the campaign astonishingly close to its $8,000 goal in less than 24 hours.

“Your help in giving back to Myles right now during his time of need is so very appreciated,” writes Sexton.
